About Ryan
Chief Financial Officer

Ryan Johnson is an experienced finance and operations leader with more than 15 years of experience and a track record of helping technology companies establish the infrastructure and processes required to scale and accelerate growth. He has spent the majority of his career helping schools, school districts and universities improve student performance and operations through the use of technology.

Ryan is the Chief Financial Officer (CFO) at InStride, the Strategic Enterprise Education™ partner of choice for businesses creating sustainable advantage and social impact through the continuous growth of their people. As CFO, Ryan oversees InStride’s accounting, financial operations, financial planning & analysis (FP&A) and commercial strategy & analytics.

Prior to InStride, Ryan was the CFO at SchoolMint, Inc., an early-stage K-12 educational SaaS company backed by BV Investment Partners. At SchoolMint, Ryan oversaw the accounting, financial operations, FP&A, HR, IT and legal areas of the business. Prior to SchoolMint, Ryan was the Worldwide Head of Pricing and Packaging at Qualtrics, a leading SaaS company providing research and analytic software that was recently sold to SAP for $8B.

Ryan also worked at PowerSchool, a leading K-12 software company, where he held a variety of roles including Chief of Staff, VP of Corporate Development, VP of Finance, Director of Product Strategy and Revenue Manager. During Ryan’s tenure at PowerSchool he drove seven add-on acquisitions worth more than $200M in total value and served as the finance lead that helped pitch and sell PowerSchool to Vista Equity Partners in a $350M carve-out from Pearson. Earlier in his career, Ryan worked in the merger & acquisition group at Intel Capital and in the operations finance group at Intel.

Ryan holds a bachelor’s degree in Management from Brigham Young University and an MBA from the University of California at Berkeley.
